Not as bad as expected

Well, yesterday and today weren't as bad as expected and I'm sure part of it is because we prepared ahead of time. Kudos to us!

Yesterday, we flip-flopped our schedule so we could spend more time on math practice. We did some Halloween practice with prime numbers, factors and multiplication using candy and then practiced multi-digit multiplication and division using ghosts! We also had some logic puzzles we worked on. After lunch and recess, we read The Wild Robot and then read independently, worked on understanding the setting of The Curse of Winter and continued drafting and revising our narratives. We ended our day with a pretty cool guest speaker, Mr. Tim Kight, teaching us about and reinforcing our understanding of R-factor. Ask your kiddo!

Today, after meeting and Mr. Nick and Miss Lauren left, we made them books since tomorrow is their last day with us. Then, in The Wild Robot, Roz has decided to leave the island... We read independently and then practiced our fluency with reading the drama, The Curse of Winter. Lunch was good and recess was indoor and then after quiet time, we learned 3 games and played with partners while a small group of kiddos did a "Whopper" of a math problem :) which ended in us enjoying some candy afterwards. We ended our day FINISHING our timelines. (It feels like we've been working on these FOREVER!)
