TGIF!

It was so weird for me today...I wanted to give Mrs. Hider some time for her to bond with the students so I sat out in the hallway for most of the morning. I worked and organized and finished up our reading assessments but I missed the kids! She needs this time, though to truly understand the whole aspect of teaching 30 children.

Anyway, we played word games or wrote sentences/drew pictures of their words for word study and went to Music. After, in morning meeting, they played Coseeki and read more from Wishtree before reading independently and working on the drama, "I Have a Dream." Today, they completed a comprehension quiz and received them back...how well did your kiddo do? They finished up researching their event for the historical fiction story they are writing. Today was a very cold outdoor recess but most of them didn't even wear their coats! Brrr! Mrs. Hider gave them an extra 10 minutes of recess and then they completed their M4T assessment. In Math Workshop, we finished up our metric conversion problems, FACEing Math--metric challenge and tried to figure out the size of the Statue of Liberty's nose based off of her arm length... We ended the day with the Ohio Energy Project and went around measuring temperatures in rooms around the building.
